This sounds like a seriously useful database. I have read the Q&A. There is talk about opening the databases in Chess Assistant and Aquarium by using the pgn versions of the files. It is not clear if this will be available to download as a a platinum member. I could afford the membership but could not afford to buy Chessbase as well since I recently invested in Aquarium and CA10.

Dear Kolems
yes we are able to migrate our databases to pgn versions so you can download them and use in your programs. However expect large files as .cbv is very good in compressing the files. We can migrate the database OM 2300 (with more than 1 million games) and also OM 2500 (players with ELO higher than 2500) with more than 180.000 games. Unfortunately the big OM with 5.7 games is not able to be transformed to pgn as the file is too large and even on the fastest computers and hardware and memory, it crashes in the middle. We will put OM 2300 database into Gold Membership section and OM 2500 into Platinum Section.
PS We suggest you to purchase ChessBase as well as this is state of art chess database software. The older versions CB 8.0 or 9.0 you can get for very good prices, or you can even download ChessBase Light for free where you can see all our databases.

Thank you for your reply. The big database was the one I was most interested in. I understand that I will not be able to view it without Chessbase. Chess Assistant & Aquarium are supposed to be able to open Chessbase files but they are looking for .cbh or .cbf files. The files on the site seem to be a newer format. I am going to wait for a while as I am not in a position to purchase Chessbase at the moment. I hope I haven't wasted your time. Thank you again and every success with your project!

Hi Kolems. We uploaded the PGN versions as promised. It's ok if you decide not to buy Platinum, in the mean time you can register for free and test our databases in the blue section. The CBH file is also in the compressed versions of RAR which we published in the PGN versions. I think CA will decode it as you say.
