Hi Marc, how old is your son or daughter? You should play with him/her a lot but be careful. Let him win 40% of the time for motivation. When you start to have a problem and start losing even if you try your best, it’s time for joining a profession kid chess club.

There are many multimedia DVD with many cool fun examples. Try some.

Don’t forget the competition among the kids .The kids are fast learners by competing (playing against each other but also with adults.

4 or 5? start with checkers. then play pawn only game. then move to real game.
